The International School of Lubumbashi hosted a vibrant and heartwarming United Nations Day celebration, bringing together students, parents, and staff to honor cultural diversity and global unity.
The event, held on Friday 18 October 2025, featured children dressed in their traditional outfits and highlighted the richness of their cultural heritage through a series of captivating performances.
The school community was transformed into a mixture of cultures as students proudly donned traditional attire from various countries, celebrating the global ideals of peace, inclusivity, and cooperation. From traditional dances, and music to heartfelt speeches, the performances showcased the unique identities of each culture while emphasizing the shared values that unite the global community.
Admission Director, Tess Shanahan, stated that:
“United Nations Day is a reminder of the importance of embracing our differences and working together toward a brighter, more inclusive future. Today’s celebration highlights the incredible diversity within our school and reflects the values we strive to instill in our students every day.”
