CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
At the International School of Lubumbashi, a wide range of co-curricular activities (CCAs) are available exclusively to elementary and middle school students, providing them with valuable opportunities to explore new interests, develop skills, and grow outside of their regular classroom activities.
These programs are designed to help students build teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a fun and engaging environment. Four extracurricular options are currently offered: badminton, basketball, robotics, and art, each tailored to provide a unique and enriching experience for our students.
The CCAs are offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, ensuring that elementary and middle school students have sufficient time to engage in their chosen pursuits. With a diverse selection of options, every student can find an activity that sparks their interest and helps them develop their physical and mental prowess.
Badminton and basketball are fantastic choices for elementary and middle school students who enjoy physical activity and friendly competition. Both sports are designed to be inclusive, so students of all skill levels are welcome to participate. These sessions offer an opportunity to improve fitness, develop coordination, and learn valuable lessons about teamwork and sportsmanship. With an emphasis on fun and skill development, students can enjoy active, energetic afternoons while gaining confidence in their abilities.
The robotics program is an exciting and hands-on activity that introduces students to the world of technology, engineering, and coding building on the skills they develop in their STEM focused lessons. Designed for younger learners, this activity helps build foundational skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. Students have the chance to work together to build and program robots, making it an ideal option for those interested in entering STEM fields of employment in the future. Robotics fosters a creative and innovative mindset, preparing students for future challenges in a rapidly advancing technological world.
To ensure our students have a diversity of options during CCA time, art sessions provide a wonderful creative outlet for all elementary and middle school students who wish to explore their artistic abilities. Through drawing, painting, and other forms of visual art, students have the chance to express their thoughts and emotions while learning new techniques and expanding their creativity. The art program encourages students to think outside the box and develop their artistic talents in a relaxed and supportive environment.
