Co-Curricular Activities
Co-curricular ACTIVITIES
At the International School of Lubumbashi, Elementary, Middle and High school students participate in a variety of Co-curricular Activities (CCAs) which are designed to enable them to explore their interests, develop their skills, and grow in confidence and competence beyond the classroom. CCAs are offered on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, providing students with ample time to engage in a range of activities.
Students can choose from the following options:
● Chess Students learn strategic thinking, problem-solving, and patience through friendly matches and tournaments. Whether beginners or advanced players, participants develop skills such as planning, analyzing moves, and improving focus.
- Choir offers students a creative outlet through singing and musical expression. They practice vocal techniques, harmony, rhythm, and performance skills. It’s a great option for those who enjoy music, teamwork, and building confidence on stage.
- In robotics, students work in teams to design, build, and program robots. They learn principles of engineering, coding, and problem-solving. This option encourages hands-on learning, creativity, and technical skills, perfect for those curious about technology and innovation.
- The art option enables students to explore their creativity through various visual arts, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. They learn techniques, study different styles, and create personal projects. It’s ideal for students who enjoy expressing themselves artistically and developing their imagination.
- STEM Club: focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through experiments, projects, and challenges. Students engage in activities such as coding, science investigations, engineering designs, and real-world problem-solving. It encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation, making it great for curious, hands-on learners.
The CCA program is reviewed and adapted each semester, always providing a balanced mix of clubs, with focuses including the use of technology and the development of artistic skills, and physical activities which all help our students to grow, explore, and enjoy learning in fun and engaging ways.
