Early Dismissal
Early dismissal
On Wednesday, which is a half day for all classes, all students in Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle School are dismissed at 12:30 pm.
The Wednesday early dismissal for all students allows teachers to engage in a range of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in the afternoon. At ISL, we work on the assumption that there is always room for improvement and the CPD program is part of our strategic planning which aims to ensure that all ISL teachers are constantly developing and improving their knowledge, skills, attitudes and practice.
The Importance of CPD at ISL
Through the bespoke CPD program, our teachers are equipped with opportunities to learn more about effective and innovative teaching methodology. Teachers share their skills and best practices with each other and learn from experts from within and outside of ISL, to be able to deliver a personalized educational approach. Through CPD, all teachers are able to implement ISL’s innovative Future-Ready curriculum, cater to the learning needs of every student and at the same time improve their own professional skills and competencies.
At ISL we firmly believe that teaching methods and skills are not static; they evolve and adapt to reflect and respond to what is going on in the world around us. That is the essence of our CPD program; it allows teachers to learn new teaching techniques and to share the best ways to engage our students cognitively, building their self-confidence and independent learning skills to bring about a nurturing, supportive and suitably challenging environment.
